Prep for the HiSET (High School Equivalency Test)

You can study for and take the HiSET exam at the Greater Wakefield Resource Center. The Gafney Adult Learning Center offers HiSET preparation, job search assistance, and career counseling at our Main Street location by appointment every Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.

About High School Equivalency

Just like the GED, passing the HiSET exam will earn you a state-issued high school equivalency credential. The HSE credential is just like a high school diploma. It is accepted everywhere, in every state, and by the federal government (including the US Military and the US Department of Labor Job Corps Program). It also qualifies you to apply for federal student aid, including grants, loans, and work-study funds.
